Dr. Mark Bergquist

Belief in Healing From Personal Experience

In my first month of college football, I hurt my back and couldn’t play. The more I worked out, the more my back hurt. The medical system didn’t help me and I was not much for taking pills. I was unfamiliar with chiropractic but a good friend of the family was a Chiropractor. I was skeptical but because he was a friend of my dad, I decided to give it a try.

Shortly after I started seeing the chiropractor, the pain started to diminish. I was so impressed with the results that I changed my major from business to Chiropractic. I’ve been blessed ever since and found that nutrition and orthotics were also key in keeping my spine in place. I would’ve never believed that my diet had so much impact on my spine.

Furthering Experience with a Solid Education

I received my Bachelors degree from North Dakota State School of Science before going to Palmer College of Chiropractic to get my Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

Combining Chiropractic With Overall Health & Wellness

Many conditions are multifaceted. It is my job to find and reveal all possible causes of pain and discomfort. Misalignments, dropped arches/flat feet, poor diet, dehydration, lack of exercise, and disease processes all cause pain. To know “why” is to treat the problem.

Not finding the “why” factor will only treat symptoms which will later reoccur.

Creating a Rounded Lifestyle Outside of Bergquist Chiropractic

When I’m not at Bergquist Chiropractic, I enjoy woodworking, going to church, water skiing, running, and other outdoor sports. As well as staying active, I also work hard to treat my body well. My diet is 80% green vegetables and 20% protein. I drink a gallon of purified water per day and take about 20 vitamins a day.

Additionally, I also wear my orthotics daily to prevent lower back pain, and receive regular adjustments to my spine to try to find the root cause of sickness for myself. I have Lyme disease so I have to work much harder to stay healthy than the normal individual.
